Meup Meup claims all four trophies

Clean sweep for Meup Meup

Meup Meup have claimed all four trophies in 2024 after winning both the Championship Trophy and Spirit Cup at the College Athletics Carnival on Tuesday 26 March.

It’s only the second time this has happened in the history of the College, with Ngadyung being the first house to complete the clean sweep back in 2013.

It was a warm day at the AIS Athletics Track, but the weather did not deter students from competing in races, participating in novelty events, and cheering on their teams from the stands.

The students of Meup Meup dominated on the track and in the field to defend their Championship Trophy, and their huge participation rates in all the events helped them to take the Spirit Cup from Gurabang, who finished second in both categories.

House spirit was evident from the moment students entered the venue, with a huge variety of costumes on display in line with the ‘Australian icons’ theme. The range of costumes included students dressed as the Wiggles, different Shapes flavours, TV personalities and characters, different fruits and vegetables, lifeguards, Bunnings employees, and professional athletes.

The carnival was another hugely enjoyable event for all, thanks mainly to the organisational skills of the College Sports Coordinator, Mrs Romina Schofield, and her team of staff and students.

Congratulations to all students for demonstrating their athleticism and house spirit, which made the carnival a huge success.
